Mood Board Monday: Finding Inspiration in Van Gogh’s Almond Blossoms

Let’s talk inspiration.

If you are struggling to come up with a cohesive idea for your event why not pull inspiration from something you love.   It can be anything really, a painting or photograph, a location, or even just something in your house.  The idea is to draw the colors and textures from that favorite thing, not to incorporate that thing into every aspect (unless that’s what you’re into.)  Below I’ve thrown together a mood board based on one of my favorite paintings, van Gogh’s Almond Blossoms.  I pulled my color palate directly from the painting and then found elements that fit not only those colors, but also the textures.

1. Vincent van Gogh, Almond Blossoms, 1890  2.  Flowers in blue glass from here  3. Turquoise bird cages from here  4. Ombre cake from Bobbette & Belle  5. Blue glass tea set, pic from here 6. Lovely bride and teal bridesmaids 7. Aisle decor from Cori Cook Floral Design
